Company History

1950s and 1960s
The foundation of Japan's commercial refrigerators was laid.

1951
  • FUKUSHIMA INDUSTRIES CORP. (now GALILEI CO. LTD.) established in Osaka.
1956
  • The head office and the main factory (formerly known as the Osaka Factory) were relocated to Mitejima, Nishi-Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.
1962
  • Company developed and began mass-producing industry's first standardized commercial refrigerator, ER Series.
1964
  • Company standardized and began mass-producing open-front refrigerated and freezing showcases.

1970s and 1980s
The new head office was built in Mitejima, Nishi-Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.

1974
  • New head office building built in Mitejima 3-chome, Nishi-Yodogawa-ku, Osaka.
1984
  • Okayama Factory built in Shoo-cho, Katsuta-gun, Okayama Prefecture.
1989
  • Hong Kong Representative Office established.

1990s and 2000s
FUKUSHIMA GALILEI became a specialist in the manufacture of commercial refrigerators and refrigerated and freezer showcases

1995
  • FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD. listed on the Second Section of Osaka Stock Exchange.
  • Shiga (Minakuchi) Factory built in Minakuchi-cho, Koka-gun (now Koka City), Shiga Prefecture.
1997
  • Hong Kong Representative Office reorganized to establish consolidated subsidiary, Fukusima International (H.K.) Co.,Ltd.(now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI (H.K.) CO., LTD.)
2000
  • Shiga (Minakuchi) Factory obtained ISO 14001 certification, becoming an eco-friendly factory to meet market needs.
2001
  • FUKUSHIMA TRADING CO., LTD. established as a consolidated subsidiary.
  • Head Office and Tokyo Branch Office (now East Japan Branch Office) obtained ISO 14001 certification.
2002
  • Okayama Factory obtained ISO9001 certification.
  • FUKUSHIMA INDUSTRIES CORP. listed on Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2004
  • Beijing Fulianjing Refrigeration and Machinery Electric Co., Ltd. (now Beijing FuRenJing Refrigeration and Machinery Electric Co., Ltd.), previously an equity method affiliate, restructured as consolidated subsidiary.
  • Fukusima International (Singapore) Pte.,Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI SINGAPORE PTE. LTD.) established as a consolidated subsidiary.
  • Shiga (Minakuchi) Factory obtained ISO9001 certification.
  • Taiwan Fukushima International Co., Ltd. established as consolidated subsidiary.
2005
  • FUKUSHIMA INDUSTRIES CORP. listed on First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2006
  • Okayama Factory obtained ISO14001 certification.
  • Okayama Factory 2 was built.
2008
  • Fukusima International (Shanghai)Co.,Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2009
  • FUKUSHIMA INDUSTRIES CORP. acquired all shares of High Bridge Co., Ltd. and made company and its wholly-owned subsidiary, TAKAHASHI MANYUFACTURING CO. LTD. (now TAKAHASHI GALILEI CO. LTD.), consolidated subsidiaries.

2010s
The number of GALILEI Group companies grew both in Japan and abroad.

2010
  • High Bridge Co., Ltd. and TAKAHASHI MANYUFACTURING CO. LTD. merged, with  TAKAHASHI MANYUFACTURING CO. LTD.  continuing.
2012
  • Fukushima International (Malaysia)Sdn Bhd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI MALAYSIA SDN. BHD.), established as consolidated subsidiary.
2013
  • FSP CORP. (now GALILEI PANEL CREATE CO. LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
  • Panel operations of Sanyo Showa Panel System Co. Ltd. transferred to FSP CORP.
  • SHOKEN CO. LTD. (now SHOKEN GALILEI CO. LTD.) became consolidated subsidiary through share swap.
  • Fukushima International(Thailand)Co., Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI (THAILAND) CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
  • Fukushima International (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI VIETNAM CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2014
  • Fukushima Industries (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI (THAILAND) CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2016
  • Fukushima International (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CAMBODIA CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2017
  • Fukushima International(Myanmar) Co., Ltd. (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI MYANMAR CO., LTD.) established as consolidated subsidiary.
  • PT. Fukushima International Indonesia (now PT. FUKUSHIMA GALILEI INDONESIA) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2018
  • Fukushima International Philippine Corporation (now FUKUSHIMA GALILEI PHILIPPINE CORPORATION) established as consolidated subsidiary.
2019
  • Head office relocated to Takejima, Nishi-Yodogawa-ku, Osaka, and company name changed to FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD.

2020s
FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD. transitioned to a holding company, GALILEI CO. LTD.

2022
  • Following review of Tokyo Stock Exchange market segments, FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD. promoted from First Section to Prime Market of TSE.
2023
  • SHOKEN GALILEI CO. LTD. relocated head office factory to Fujieda, Shizuoka.
  • Liquidation of Beijing ER Shang-Fukushima Machinery Electric Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary, completed and company dissolved.
2024
  • FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD. acquired shares of Ecomec Co., Ltd. and made company and its wholly owned subsidiary, NIPPON SENJOKI K.K., consolidated subsidiaries. Ecomec Co., Ltd. and NIPPON SENJOKI K.K. merged, with NIPPON SENJOKI K.K. surviving.
2025
  • Business operations of FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD. transferred to new FUKUSHIMA GALILEI CO. LTD., which shifted to holding company.
    Company name changed to GALILEI CO. LTD.
